About this course

Seeing Before Drawing: The Observer's Warm-Up

Before you pick up a pen, you must learn to see. Spend the first lesson in pure observation — looking at objects, light, and space with the curiosity of a child and the patience of a craftsperson.

Choose one object near you. Study it for 5 minutes without drawing. Notice things you've never noticed before. Most people look at the world, but very few actually see it.

Confident Marks: Lines Without Apology

Tentative lines come from fear. Confident lines come from commitment. In this lesson, you'll practice making decisive marks — long, short, curved, diagonal — until your hand stops apologizing.

Before each mark, commit to it in your mind. Then make it. No second-guessing, no correction. This single practice changes everything about how your illustrations feel.
